NLC SUSPENDS STRIKE ACTION

THE COMMUNIQUÉ AT THE END OF THE MEETING OF THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS ISSUED HELD ON SUNDAY, MAY 22, 2016 IN ABUJA.
An emergency meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) held today, Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Bolton White Hotels, Abuja on the on-going protest action against the increase in pump price of petroleum products and hike in electricity tariff. NEC reviewed the protest action and its impact across the nation, noting the sacrifices of its members, response of the generality of Nigerians, government's attitude and the brutality of the police in some states. NEC took special notice of the Ebonyi State Police Command where our members were intimidated, harassed, arrested and detained unjustly.
After an exhaustive deliberation, NEC noted its protest action was informed by the twin issues of the unjustified and illegal hike in electricity tariff and increase in the pump price of petroleum products. NEC adjudged the protest action to be a success in spite of both internal and external challenges.
NEC reiterated the correctness of its position on the twin-issues of electricity tariff hike and astronomical increase in the pump price of PMS and the hardship they portend for Nigerian masses.
NEC also acknowledged that the temptation to compare the strike action with that of 2012 could be compelling but that the scenario had changed as both the actors and the terrain were different.
NEC said before it had embarked on the action, it had anticipated a probable outcome and therefore was not surprised by government's negative response. Nonetheless, it felt fulfilled by having the presence of mind and courage to identify its mission and fulfilling it, stressing that if a similar situation arises again, it will still rise and stand with the people.
NEC therefore commended those who took part in the action in one way or the other and reaffirm its commitment to the struggle. The action, it reiterated was taken in the best interest of the poor and the weak and in drawing government's attention to the dangers of relying on importation of petroleum products as a sustainable strategy for making available petroleum products. It expressed the belief that in the days ahead, time would prove its position right.
Congress singled out for commendation, its state councils, affiliates and other patriotic Nigerians who at very short notice picked up the gauntlet for this struggle. Congress commends the leadership of the National Assembly and All Progressives Congress led by Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
In consideration of the above, NEC after due consultation with its constituents resolved to suspend with immediate effect, the action it commenced on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. The action is thus hereby suspended.
Congress will resume negotiations with government on the twin issues of the hike in electricity tariff and an increase in the pump price of petroleum products and any other issue that may arise thereof.
It similarly remains committed to genuine dialogue within the framework of internationally established and recognized principles of representation.
The Congress will continue to resist wrong legislations, policies and programmes and will always act in the best interest of Nigerians as it remains the only pan Nigerian organisation not affected by religion, region, creed, partisanship or primordial sentiments.
The Congress urges the government to play by the rules in its engagement with its constituent parts, stakeholders and non-state actors as proof of its commitment to deepening our democracy and also in acknowledgment of the well-worn credo that what goes around, comes around.
The Congress also urges the citizenry to be vigilant at all times as the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
The Congress commends all Nigerians for their understating and support.

CHIBOK GIRLS RESCUE ANOTHER SCAM?

The leader of the defunct Niger delta volunteer Mujaheden Asari Dokubu has carpeted the purported rescue of Chibok girls with the following tweet below:

"PASS THE MESSAGE....NO MISSING CHIBOK GIRL HAD BEEN FOUND....BECAUSE NO GIRLS WERE MISSING....CHIBOK IS A SCAM.
I don't think many of us still remember that the Kidnap Chibok Girls were science students studying for the final physics WAEC Examination at the time of their abduction. The school was not in session during the attack but the SS3 students (Girls) were kept the school hostel to sit for the last paper.
Here is my own curiousity; why were those rescued or found unable to speak a simple English Language except their local languages in their interviews since this drama started?
Abi dem dey teach physics for Hausa too?
Na so Physics popular for the North that almost 300 girls wan write the examination in one school?
I dont get it...epp me please!"

APC STILL COMMITTING THE SUBSIDY SCAM LIKE PDP

I am terribly surprised that Federal government under General Muhammadu Buhari approved the sum of  413BN Naira as payment to oil marketers. This is coming to light after APC claimed that subsidy payment is a fraud by PDP. But today they have continued with the payment of the so called fraud. And maybe planning to remove it, If the feelers we got from some unofficial APC supporters like former CBN governor Sanusi is anything to go by.
Why do these people double speak?

How can you now remove what doesn't exist in the first place?
And why are you now paying for you claimed that does not exist in the first place.
I know that Nigerian have short memories and may not remember now, but i just want to remind us that trying to destroy the legacy or image of another man because you want power is not good and will haunt you till you.
For the avoidance please take your time and read the following the news threads:
1 Oil Subsidy Scam: How I arrived at $32bn figure – Saraki: For the full news click here:

There are many other screamers claiming that subsidy payment is a fraud but today all those social

network tweets are silent, blind, deaf and dumb.

EVIL THEY COMMITTED AGAINST SLAVES!

Did you know J. Marison Sims a.k.a 'The Father of Modern Gynecology' USED AFRICAN WOMEN DURING SLAVERY FOR SURGICAL EXPERIMENTS ? Sims medical experiments on
black women created a cure for 'vesicovaginal fistula,' which allowed him to detect and cure illnesses such as cancer before it became deadly. He did not provide the slaves with anesthetic or medicine to numb their pain during these procedures, and if one of them died from complications or excessive bleeding, he simply replaced them with another slave. Because slaves were not seen as fully human and considered 'private property', it was completely legal for slaves to be subjected to all sorts of violence and medical experiments.

Learning about these horrific things can makes ones heart heavy, but I refuse to hide these historical facts. I will not allow my ancestors brutal experiences to remain unnoticed just because some people feel uncomfortable when the history of slavery is discussed. I also want people to understand that slavery wasn't just about people being raped and forced to work for free for 400 years. The most devastating thing about slavery was the psychological terror that blacks endured. Nothing compares to being kidnapped from your homeland, sold and treated as 'property,' having your families divided for a lifetime, raped and brutalized to the fullest extent, used as medical experiments, and experienced psychological terror everyday for centuries. Many of our African-Americans Brothers and Sisters still suffer from post traumatic slave syndrome.

A lot of people are unaware that slavery was less than 150 years ago, which is no more than 3 generations ago. The transatlantic slave trade started in the 1400s and slavery legally ended in 1865 in the U.S.. That is over 400 years of social engineering, brainwashing, and terror that blacks have endured. This dysfunctional behavior has been passed down from generation to generation, and unfortunately it is going to take more than 150 years to properly reverse this mindset. Blacks never received psychological therapy after they were legally free. They were just forced to “get over it” and “move on,” and of course we all should know about the horrors of the Jim Crow Era, and racism today. Blacks really never had a chance to reinvent themselves because they have always been under attack in America. I refuse to ignore or downplay my ancestor’s experiences. Stop allowing others to tell you how to feel about your history, especially since it plays a critical role in our condition as a people today, economically, socially, and mentally !!!!

Female Suicide Bomber who blew up a mosque yesterday in Maiduguri

We are in trouble in this country. The problem with this country is and still is ethnicity. And way politicians play politics with the present and future of Nigeria all in a bid to gain political power is appalling.

Jonathan's administration witnessed between 2345-2500 people killed by Boko Haram and instead of politicians from opposing camp to closer rank and help solve the problem they used inciting words and lies to mobilize the masses against him. This has set a dangerous precedence in this country that might lead to problems that may make or mare the sovereignty of our great Nation.

Now within just 6 months of of the Buhari administration between 1892-2000 people have been killed and still counting....
And in all these who are the loosers? The poor masses.
If this continues at this rate daily, by 4 years time between 16000-20000 people may have died.

So we only achieved regime change but no real change in the way things are in the lives of the masses only increase in the problems that forced the old government out!

For the records some politicians from the opposing camp used a statement attributed to a former Military president of the nation General Sani Abacha , and i quote, " if Insurgency lasts for more than 24hours the Government is involved..." Quoting this type of statement by respectable politicians at a time when the sovereignty of our Nation is being threatened by international squabbles is counter productive as the same statement is now haunting the Buhari camp who quoted it in the first place.

As if that above statement is not enough the wife of the President was quoted to have called for the resignation of the then president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan over his inability to arrest the insurgency situation in the North East of the country but her husband categorically said on Aljazeera that he will not resign if he couldn't arrest the same situation, You see different rules for different folks. Yet the Nigerian problem still remains the same.

The solution is that Nigerians should demand honesty from politicians and always stand by the truth instead of their perceived truth to determined by ethnicity, political party and religioys affiliation as these are all wrong way of seeing things.
Though Buharis' camp used all manner of lies to get power, if he fails as a president it will be a loss to Nigeria. Therefore in my opinion Nigerians should give him honest and maximum support to enable him succeed.

BOMB BLAST IN ABUJA

Its been reported that the twin bomb blast that occurred on October 1st 2015 in Abuja left no fewer than 34 people dead and more than 39 wounded. The bomb was allegedly carried out by an Islamic sect that wants total implementation of Sharia in the Northern states of Nigeria.
The current President rode on the promise of security and specifically that he will destroy the group in weeks to oust the incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan .But since taking over power the group seems to be waxing strong while the government has largely been secretive about the campaign against the insurgents.

NAPTIP BUST UAE PROSTITUTE RING

The syndicate that specializes in trafficking of ladies for prostitution has finally been busted by NAPTIP (National Agency for the prohibition of trafficking in persons)
Please read  and download my previous post on prostitutes taking oath of office
The arrest of the ring leader on Blessing Gabriel who is based in Dubai recently by NAPTIP finally brought the nightmare to a halt.
.
NAPTIP Head of press and public relations officer, Josiah Emerole said that the agency was tipped off when videos of naked ladies from Nigeria  taking oath  flooded social media.
He further said while parading the suspects  that they were able to record this success after painstaking  investigations.
The modus operandi of the syndicate include sourcing for vulnerable ladies mostly from poor homes or financially challenged ladies, who are desperate to travel out of the country for any form of work. These ladies will then be taken to a local shrine were they are forced to take an oath. Thereafter they are taken to UAE and another round of oath taking will be administered on them this time while totally naked with a promise that if they comply to the agreement made with the pimp they will be let off and the video will be deleted, but if they on any account default the videos will be uploaded on social media for the whole to see.

MILITARY CUTS OFF BOKO HARAM MEMBERS HEAD

Its not my business to judge or ask why was the head of an alleged Boko Haram member severed. On the first look i thought it was caused by suicide mission he part took until the romour mill started claiming that he was beheaded by Nigerian army soldiers. It has not been independently verified as at the time of writing but i believe that the truth of this story will one day come to the fore.
