Abraham Biggs live suicide video is causing furor the world over. Let be honest with ourselves; while this media attention seeking boy has been able to make the world stand still for a moment for him. This media stunt may portend more heinous acts like this in future, if we keep celebrating him alas unknowingly. I think the best thing would have been to ignore him and his mention in the media or at least reduce the mention. (Please I do not want people accusing me of being against press freedom. I am only airing my view) the reason is quite simple, suicide is usually committed by people who want to make their relations, friends and maybe society feel sorry or at least feel remorse for maybe neglecting them and things like that.
I have been in the deepest valley of depression myself in my teenage years, and even attempted suicide. Why I tried that then is so foolish that I often wonder why I was thinking like that in the first place. How can I blame others for my own mistake and when they refuse to accept it I tried to make them sorry by harming myself? How do I come to believe that if I die it will change anything in this world? Or that my parents will be heartbroken for ever? Any way they might be for sometime but after a time they will get over it. The truth is that they lived more than twenty years without me then can do it again. The only loser will be….. You guessed right, me.
Another reason is that it is a cowardly act. A person not having the ability to face the problem he has to solve to succeed in life.
Foolish isn’t it?
All over the world youths are depressed for many foolish reasons like: neglect, lack of love from peers and mates, failure in class etc
If you are honest to yourself you will know that in all cases you are to blame
1 no one is responsible for your happiness but you
2 you are the person responsible for your success
3 your mates don’t have any obligation to love you, love yourself first and stop trying so hard. Who know it might come.
4 If you don’t want to change with time; time must surely change without you; so killing yourself will definitely not solve any problem. Whether we like it or not the world makes the rules we obey them.
Anyway I tried it and I bet you, almost every youth undergoes that stage in life. It was like that before; it is like that now and will continue to be to the end of time. The worst thing the world will do is to idolize it. It is only in society that idolize suicide that it is rampant
